The Finnish Research Infrastructure for Public Opinion hosted Dr Einarsson during his week-long visit in Turku and Vaasa in September. Dr Einarsson, who is a post-doctoral researcher at the faculty of political science at the University of Iceland, works closely with the Icelandic National Election Study and other societal surveys conducted among the population of Iceland.
Dr Einarsson participated in a research seminar organized by the Institute of Social Science Research at Åbo Akademi, where he gave a presentation with the title “Nonresponse and Non-Sampling Error Trends in Election Studies: Evidence from the Icelandic National Election Study 1983-2021”. During the discussions with FIRIPO scholars, Dr Einarsson gave valuable input on the themes of survey methodology and sampling. Of special interest to FIRIPO scholars were Einarssons insights into weighting coefficients used in survey analyses.
