Sign up for the Journalist panel
What is it about?
We are currently building a new Finnish journalist panel. The panel consists of journalists who can respond to research surveys a few times a year.
The panel is first of its kind in Finland, and it is part of the national FIRIPO infrastructure that currently maintains four other survey panels. Our goal is to provide high class scientific research on the state of journalism in Finland.
Who is behind the project?
FIRIPO is a collaborative effort between Åbo Akademi University, Tampere University and the University of Turku. Higher education institutions in the field of communications, the Finnish Association for Media and Communication Studies (Mevi), and the Union of Journalists in Finland support the work.
Why join?
We are currently recruiting journalists who are interested in joining the panel. In order to assemble a sufficiently large group, we also need your help, and therefore we hope that you, as someone working as a journalist, would like to join. On behalf of the panel, we can guarantee:
High quality: the surveys you receive in the panel are worth your time and fulfill all data security requirements.
Efficient use of your time: our surveys are concise and you receive only a couple of them a year
A carefully designed setup: we review the quality of the survey questions before they are sent, and you won’t need to answer background questions in every new survey.
A focus on scientific research: only research surveys are included—no commercial market research.
By joining the panel you will have a genuine impact and help advane our knowledge of journalism in our country, while also preventing the spread of unfounded claims. From time to time, prizes will also be raffled among those who participate in the surveys.
